What do you know to be true?
I’ve noticed in life that we all have different truths.
Problems develop in our psyches when we do not honor our own truths and instead subordinate them to the those masquerading as truth lords. These often appear early in life as teachers or bosses or parents and later in life as governmental leaders. We are taught to ignore our own truths, that there is only one right truth and only those anointed in truth training have the power to state them.
It’s such hogwash. Truth depends on your vantage point, your personal style, your experiences, your cache of life questions.
Here are three things I know to be true for me.
1) If I do not speak up, I become a victim of some system that has a goal to muffle me.
2) The best place to start is anywhere. The world is made up of entry points, mini-portals to your own freedom, your own “I love lifeness.”
3) It takes courage to listen. Anyone can talk, but only the brave can listen.
How about some of you out there … Want to share some of your truths?
Thanks, Giulietta
Thanks Giulietta! Great post. While the concept is simple to grasp, in practice this one idea can be very hard to do consistently. But if it’s done well the rewards are amazing! Here are a couple of my truths:
1. Positivity, light and good always leads me in the right direction.
2. Connecting to and following what is true for me is always the right thing to do.
3. And, on a simpler note: It’s true that I’m happiest on a tropical beach!
🙂
Wonderful to see you here Jessica. I’m glad you brought up good. We need more of that! Like you, I’m on a do-good mission in the world. Can you imagine if we all tried to do that every day? Tropical beaches are cool … thanks, G.
I love this truth telling! Mine is this:
I feel better when I’m creating (mostly writing). Doesn’t matter if its a good creation or a bad creation, what matters is that I do it. Then I feel like myself again.
Hi Charlotte,
I’m with you on creating. It feels human! Even the not-so-good stuff is creative … Sometimes, I find missing nuggets in those rambles. Thanks! G.
“Truth Lords.” Love that! My truth is a little like Charlotte’s: creativity is my medicine. And I’m touched by your truth that only the brave can listen.
Hi Patty,
Glad you like Truth Lords. Fun to make up new word combos. Creativity is wonderful medicine. I like that new phraseology as well. Need to read your Art of Destruction … Appreciate you stopping in. G.
