Thank you wonderful readers and commenters!
Well, I’m on day three of my 29 day giving adventure. Really supportive on-line community at 29 gifts! at All sorts of ideas for giving keep popping into my head. Really gets you out of your head and into your heart.
For today’s giving, I wanted to thank all my readers, past and present, for your support. Was reading my latest issue of Rolling Stone and stumbled on this project from Val Kilmer and thought it might resonate with you. Last spring he performed “Citizen Twain” a neat one-man play where he’s Mark Twain talking to the audience about what still bugs him and about the way we treat each other. I hope it comes to Boston. I’d love to see it. He got standing ovations every night.
How can you go wrong with Mark Twain? I went to Mark Twain’s Hartford home last December and will load up the pics for next week’s blog. I’m a huge Twain fan. The movie you can see in the Mark Twain museum, moved me to tears. He was so human and compassionate yet flawed like all of us.
Here are a couple of quotes from the Mark Twain book I got at the museum store: “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.” and “When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries of life disappear and life stands explained.”
Many thanks!
Giulietta
Glad to see Val Kilmer involved in interesting projects — I’ve been a big fan of his since “Real Genius” (a movie obviously made for nine-year-olds, like I was at the time, to appreciate).
Hi Chris,
It’s a good article, he talks about New Mexico where he lives with his children and the importance of trees and rivers, two of my favs as well! Thanks, G.
Hey, thanks right back at ya, G. It’s always a pleasure to come here and read. I had no idea Val Kilmer was doing Mark Twain. And I’m mad about that “mad” quote!
Hi Patty!
I’ve met so many great folks on this blog and others, like you. Fun to get to even chat live with fellow bloggers. And I need to make a correction above, it’s Origin Magazine: The Conscious Culture Magazine. Both RS and O have good articles. Would love to write for Origin, especially.
Thanks! G.
I really wish you would move to the Raleigh NC area! I would love to attend one of your workshops. You are such an inspiring person and should know what a positive influence you have on people! I think I may plan my next trip to visit family members in Ashland MA around your workshop schedule 🙂
Hi Mary!
I’m humbled by your comment. NC sounds like a cool place! Come on down (or up?) to Ashland. We’re trying to make this place happening! Many appreciations, G.
