Getting Comments
I’m past the 30 day blog challenge but am so used to blogging every day that I couldn’t help myself.
Today I’d like to talk comments. Those wonderful cyber interactions every blogger lives for! Getting comments on a blog means someone is reading what I’ve written and they’ve been moved enough to respond. When I blogged for Skirt! Magazine for a month a year ago, I sometimes felt like I was speaking to an empty theater when I only received a few comments. Going back to some of those blogs, I’ve noticed they now have a view count. It amazed me how many people had actually read my writings. Sometimes in the thousands.
As a fellow blogger said to me, most people will not leave a comment but it doesn’t mean no one is reading it.
Do I leave comments? Yes. I do it for two reasons. To let the blogger know I’ve enjoyed their post and to pay it forward. I hope they will come to my blog and leave a comment or other people leaving comments will come to my site.
Be generous and leave a comment on a blog today!
Thx,
G.
I enjoyed the 30 day challenge from Connie Green too and I agree with you about leaving comments on blogs. I have not been thoughtful of that, seems I am too busy:) But like everything else in life, stopping to make someone else know that you took a minute for them, is a good thing. I’m determined to change my ways! Your blog looks great and is full of helpful info. Gotta love the net!
Hi Giulietta,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I really appreciate the visit and the comment. I’ve just now had a chance to look at your site and blog and I’m definitely coming back to read some more. Wonderful site.

Hey Ryan & Suzanne,
I appreciate you visiting my site and leaving comments. Glad we cyber connected during the challenge. Am so glad I did it!
Thx. G.
Hey Giulietta,
I did not know about this challenge; otherwise I would have read and commented sooner. Nevertheless, your ability to post everyday is impressive. I seem to get around to it once a week these days.
As for comments, I agree, regardless of how many people view your blog, they are like fuel for the blogger. They keep us going! I remember before I considered blogging how scary it was commenting on someone else’s blog. Was my comment stupid? Was I wasting readers’ time? It didn’t take long to realize that the answer to both those questions was NO. In most cases, comments are thoughtful and welcome, and once in a while, comments at my blog helped me come up ideas for future posts.
Hi Sally,
An awesome challenge. At first I didn’t think I could do it, but then found myself enjoying it so much I wanted to do it! It’s once a year. Am coming up with my own challenge I’ll toss out there soon! You are so right about comments – fuel for the writing fire!
Muse thx, G.
