Sambas: Haven’t been since June. It’s a fun place, but crowded with lots of singers. If you want to sing 1, maybe two songs in front of 200 people, this is probably the right venue. Wide song selection. Excellent food.
Lavenders: Great place for folks who want to sing 3 or 4 songs. It’s classy and intimate with a big song list and a good sound system. Come early this venue is getting quite popular.
TJ’s: An eclectic mix of singers and patrons – very supportive audience. Nice sound system, although you need to project into the microphone to be heard over conversation. Outdoor deck and good, inexpensive food. Does get crowded. You can sing off a wide screen tv or a stand just above eye-level. (Finally a stand that doesn’t make you look down when you sing!)
Medway Lotus: Excellent sound system! Cozy karaoke venue with good Chinese food.
Fantasy Island: Serious karaoke night with really good singers and great sound system. Lots of regulars. If you go early, you can get up and sing two songs. Around 10 it gets very crowded and it can be a 35-minute wait after putting in a song.
Limey’s: Good sound system, right-after-college crowd. Doesn’t get crowded until after 10:30. Not pretentious at all! Good for beginning singers wanting to get their singing toes wet.
The Westender: Excellent sound system. This is a new venue for seasoned KDJ Brian Abbott. Not packed yet!
Corner Pub: Haven’t been yet.
